The photo and the schematic of the 156 KVA Auto Transformer, part number 18838C is shown below. This is ideal for 37.6 to 45.119 step up applications. The unit is housed inside an indoor enclosure. Auto transformers are much cheaper than isolation transformers. A comparable isolation transformer will be 6 times bigger in size with higher cost.

The auto transformer is enclosed in a
NEMA 4X enclosure with a water cooled isolation transformer attached to it as
shown below. The heat generated from the auto transformer is dissipated thru
the connecting cables and the bus bars connected to the water cooled isolation
transformer. This is the only way the heat generated from the auto transformer
can be dissipated in the NEMA 4X enclosure.
