L/C Magnetics specializes in providing special coils and military parts. Sometimes the existing supplier has gone out of business. We specialize in getting approvals of obsolete design with new replacements.
L/C Magnetics fabricates its own bobbins and coil-forms to build specialty coils or inductors. We use magnet wire from tiny 30 AWG (0.0116” diameter) to large rectangular magnet wire 0.229” x 0.458”. Coils are designed for 0.4 mA to 4000 Amps current capability. The weight range is from 1 oz. to 500 lbs. We build gapped inductors for current limiting and DC filter applications to offer you the exact inductance required. Coils can be encapsulated if needed.
An example of a 500 lbs coil is shown below. This custom coil is rated for 4000 Amps. This coil is made of 3 twin magnet wire (0.229" x 0.458").
An example of a 1 oz coil is shown below. This coil is of 28 AWG magnet wire. The coil is rated for 0.5 Amps.
