Product Overview

Current Limiting Reactors are used for line reactors, inrush current limiting, and surge current limiter applications. Current Limiting Reactors (CLR) develops a higher voltage drop across the CLRs when the current through the CLRs increases. Current limit reactors are gapped inductors intended to reduce the short circuit currents passing through the circuit breaker in the power system.

• Current-Limiting Reactor, dry type, 4000 Amps continuous, 60 Hz, P/N 19016CLR 
• Three single phase gapped inductors are required in one indoor enclosure.
• Rating: 480 VAC, 1 PH, 60 Hz, 4000 amps continuous
• Inductance: 18.57 uH ± 15% (per short circuit study performed by the customer)
• 28 VAC drop is estimated across the inductor at 4000 amps continuous current. 
• Total temperature rise: 43°C
• Copper temperature rise: 23.5°C
• Core temperature rise: 23.8°C
• Copper bus bar: 4” x 3/4” with ten holes
• NEMA 1 enclosure, 50”H x 65”W x 36”D. 
• Fault current: 75,000 Amps
• P/N 19016CLR consists of three inductors, P/N 19016L inside a NEMA 1 enclosure, 50”H x 65”W x 36”D 
• Estimated weight: 3000 lbs approximately

The three fault limiting reactors P/N 19016L are installed on a platform assembly as shown below. The complete assembly will be housed inside an indoor enclosure, 50"H x 65" x 36"D.
