42 Amps / 30.94 mH Current Limiting Reactor, P/N 6278CLR, Fault Current: 1200 Amps, High Voltage Application inside an oil filled enclosure

Product Overview

Current Limiting Reactors are used for line reactors, inrush current limiting, and surge current limiter applications. Current Limiting Reactors (CLR) develops a higher voltage drop across the CLRs when the current through the CLRs increases. Current limit reactors are gapped inductor intended to reduce the short circuit currents passing through the circuit breaker in the power system.

The photo of the inrush current limiter inside an oil filled enclosure, part number 6278CLR is shown below:

Medium Voltage CLR, Oil filled enclosure for P/N 6278CLR

Specifications:

  • Current-Limiting Reactor, Oil filled, 42 Amps continuous, 60 Hz, P/N 6278CLR
  • Rating: 14000 VAC, 1 PH, 60 Hz, 42 amps continuous
  • Inductance: 30.94 mH ± 25%
  • Fault current: 1200 Amps
  • 490 VAC drop is estimated across the CLR at 42 amps continuous current.

An example of a 480 Amps CLR, part number 18885CLR is shown below. Three fault limiting reactors are installed in one indoor enclosure.

    P/N 18885CLR
