The photo and schematic of the three auto transformer, part number 6112A is shown below. This is ideal for 480 to 440 step up applications. The unit is housed inside an indoor enclosure. Auto transformers are much cheaper than isolation transformers. A comparable isolation transformer will be 12 times bigger in size with higher cost.
480/400 Auto Transformer
Specifications:
- 1.25 MVA Auto Transformer, 3 PH, 60 Hz, P/N 6112A
- Input: 480 VAC, 1503 Amps, 3 PH, 60 Hz
- Output: 440 VAC, 1640 Amps, 3 PH, 60 Hz
- Copper bus bars are 4” x 3/8” with two holes
- P/N 6112A consist of three single phase auto transformers (T1, T2 and T3) inside an indoor enclosure
- Indoor Enclosure: 50” H x 36” W x 26” D
- Comparable Isolation transformer will be 12 times bigger in size.
T1, T2 and T3
will be housed inside an indoor enclosure as shown below. The three neutrals
will be joined together with jumpers J1 and J2.
